The City of Elkhart recently completed a multi-use path along Benham Avenue and Mishawaka Road, stretching from Hively Avenue to Old Farm Drive. This new path connects residential neighborhoods on the south side of the city with commercial developments such as the Woodland Crossing Commercial Center. Designed to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety, the path features enhanced lighting and safer crossings, making it especially beneficial for students traveling to nearby schools and institutions like the Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary. The project supports Elkhart’s broader infrastructure goals by promoting walkability, encouraging active transportation, and improving connectivity between key community areas.
